This restaurant pleasantly surprised its food and service. Living in the area for a while, we have seen this building becoming a Chinese restaurant time and time again with little to no improvement between owners. This is different however. Food there is great for buffet food. Staff was constantly around, making sure every pail of food was full and customers were satisfied! We tried the lunch buffet but will be back for the dinner one! Give them a try!

The best buffet this place has had in a while. Really busy but the wait and food was worth it. Everything was fresh and hot. First time I've seen torpedo shrimp at a buffet here in NL. I will say it had less options than some previous businesses that were there but it's probably why the food was so good, less dishes means they can focus on the quality of the dishes they offer. I will say the only down side was maybe the dessert part of the buffet, very underwhelming. Couple cookies, a frozen "cream pie", ice cream and I think some fresh melon. Thankfully, people aren't going to a Chinese buffet for dessert. Would recommend.
Had an amazing birthday dinner with friends two weeks ago and it was truly awesome! The food was fantastic, and I absolutely loved how they cooked their broccoli—perfectly done and so flavorful! A huge shoutout to the accommodating staff who went above and beyond with our requests. They even managed to fit in a few more friends who joined last minute, even though it exceeded my reservation. Super grateful for that! Also, big thanks for allowing me to bring my own birthday cake—it made the celebration extra special. If there’s one thing I’d love to see, it’s more seafood options, especially for my Muslim friends. That would make the dining experience even better! Overall, it was an unforgettable night filled with great food, good vibes, and even better company.
The missus and I go here as she knows the owner. Food is very good. Best Chinese food place in St. John's. Atmosphere is great. Staff are all very nice and look extremely professional. The place is very well looked after. Walk in, and have to wheel barrow yourself out. Will come back again and again forever and ever
Well, today we received some of the best service we've had in this city. My Dad, Aunt and I decided to have a lunch date at Hey Yang Yang's, a newly opened Chinese restaurant in the city. Its location is the old City Lights building. It was about 2:05pm when we drove by, and wondered if they were still serving the lunch buffet. We went in, and were welcomed by a very friendly server who told us to help ourselves, and dont worry about rushing to eat, even though the buffet ends at 230pm. We get in, and the buffet is filled with piping hot food of all kinds. They very much have something for everyone. Most is your typical Canadian Chinese, which I'm totally fine with. The food was excellent. The stand outs were the rice, the dumplings, the honey garlic ribs, the curried potatoes, the bbq wings and the bbq pork. Amazing food. Our server is quick to refill our drinks and clear our finished plates. Then, this jovial, sweet, energetic woman comes over, asks if everything is hot enough, if we would like her to put on more of anything, etc, if she could heat up anything, etc. She was an absolute darling. She then decided that we didn't eat enough, despite the two plates we all had, so she asks my what our fave items were, and she quickly goes to the buffet and stuffs a container for us to take with us to enjoy later. She refused to take an extra tip, and she just genuinely wanted to take care of her customers. This is some of the BEST service I've received in this city, bar none. This woman was made for the service industry, and with her personality and attention to detail, this place is going to do extremely well. Thank you for a WONDERFUL experience today with my family, Hey Yang Yang! We are already making plans to back, and I'll be telling everyone I know to support your new local business. Well done, and we will see you again soon!!! The Pond Family Cleanliness 10/10 Food 10/10 Service 20/10
